Dr. Janina Heaphy is a Research Fellow at the Center for Human Rights (CHREN), University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, where she teaches and conducts research on human rights, foreign policy, and security studies. Her doctoral work examined anti-torture safeguards in U.S., British, and German foreign policy during the War on Terror. Her current PostDoc research explores human rights and environmental security, focusing on political narratives and policy networks. She previously held positions at Leiden, Bamberg, Munich (LMU), and Aston Universities.
Her teaching and academic leadership roles include contributing to the M.A. Human Rights program at FAU, highlighted in promotional videos. Research interests span counterterrorism policies, strategic use of human rights frameworks, and transnational policy dynamics. Her publications emphasize comparative analyses of foreign policy and human rights obligations.
