Janicke Stensvaag Kaasa is Associate Professor of Nordic Literature at University of Oslo, specializing in sociology of literature and book history. Her research examines literary citizenship, periodical culture, and transnational textual circulation.
Current projects investigate Norwegian world literature production (1900-1950). Publications analyze historical children's magazines, Arctic exploration narratives, and transnational adaptations like Uncle Tom's Cabin.
Awarded His Majesty the King's Gold Medal for doctoral research on Canadian travel writing. Coordinates international research networks on distant reading methodologies.
