Janice Weis is an academic faculty member at Lewis & Clark College's Law School, serving as Associate Dean and Director of the Environmental, Natural Resources, and Energy Law Program since 1994. She oversees the program's operations for JD, LLM, joint JD-LLM, and MSL students and contributes to sustainability initiatives as chair of the Lewis & Clark Sustainability Council.

Weis specializes in environmental law, with research interests spanning water rights, endangered species, land use, and energy policy. Her work intersects legal frameworks for federal and state environmental regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Her publications focus on water resource management, endangered species protections, and policy analysis. Weis has delivered seminars for the USDA Forest Service and federal judiciary training on environmental law compliance. She also co-chaired the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation's Natural Resources Law Teachers Committee.
