Janice Ser Huay Lee

Janice Ser Huay Lee is a Principal Investigator at the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and an Assistant Professor at the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. She joined NTU in 2016 after postdoctoral roles at Princeton University and ETH Zurich.

• Education: PhD (2013), BSc (Life Sciences), MSc (Ecology) from National University of Singapore

Her research focuses on socio-ecological systems, particularly rural land use change in Southeast Asia and its impacts on biodiversity conservation, human livelihoods, and the oil palm industry. She also works on food security and peatland restoration.

Lee supervises a team of two Postdoctoral Researchers, five Research Associates, four PhD students, and nine undergraduate students through her Coupled Human and Natural Systems Lab. She contributes to academic journals as an editorial board member of Biological Conservation and guest editor for special issues.
