Janice E. Clifford

Janice E. Clifford serves as an Associate Professor of Sociology and Criminology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology & Social Work at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts. Her academic work spans national and international contexts in criminological research.

Research Interests: Clifford's scholarship critically examines violent crime, violence against women, juvenile delinquency, and victimization through the lens of social, cultural, and contextual factors. Her work bridges theoretical criminology with practical applications in family studies and juvenile deviance, emphasizing both offending behavior and victim experiences across diverse populations.

Outreach: As co-director of CSI: Auburn, she leads a forensic science literacy program for grades 5-8 that integrates social science methodologies with STEM education, demonstrating real-world applications of criminological research.
