Janice Bockmeyer is an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department at John Jay College, City University of New York (CUNY). She holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, CUNY, and focuses on urban politics, comparative urban governance, and community development. Her research examines U.S. and German cities, especially the role of nonprofits and philanthropy in urban planning. She teaches courses on urban politics, New York City governance, and internships.

She actively participates in the Urban Affairs Association, American Political Science Association, and International Political Science Association. She speaks German and has conducted research in Berlin and Hamburg.
