Janet Sheath

Janet Sheath is a Senior Lecturer at Birkbeck Business School, part of Birkbeck, University of London. She holds qualifications including an MSc from Birkbeck (1999), a BSc Psychology from the Open University, and specialized certifications in counseling and organizational consultancy. Her professional memberships include Fellow of the National Institute of Career Counselling and Education, and affiliations with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Career Development Institute.

Her teaching focuses on career coaching and organizational psychology, including modules like Core Coaching Skills and Career Counselling and Coaching. She has held visiting lecturer roles at Kingston University, Bath University, City University (2015–2018), and Royal Holloway College. Her research explores workplace dynamics, particularly gendered experiences in academic settings, as evidenced by her 2024 publication on women’s collective care strategies in response to 'office housework'.
