Education:
- PhD in Print Journalism and the Creative Process, University of Newcastle Australia (2012)
Her research interrogates the intersection of creativity, media practice, and societal challenges. Key focus areas include news audience behavior in digital environments, regional journalism ecosystems, crisis communication during climate events, and political misinformation dynamics. Methodologically grounded in interviews, observation, and thematic analysis, her work bridges academic theory with practical industry applications.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal a pronounced shift toward urgent socio-technical issues: analyzing news consumption in high-choice media landscapes, developing frameworks for climate disaster preparedness through cultural creativity, and mapping political misinformation patterns ahead of the 2025 Australian election. These studies consistently emphasize community-driven solutions and systemic industry adaptations.
