Janet Francis is an Associate Professor at Staffordshire University, specializing in lifelong and lifewide learning. Her career spans education, IT industry roles (software engineer, project manager), and academia. She emphasizes experiential learning, non-traditional education pathways, and industry collaboration. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she focuses on pedagogies for diverse learners and apprenticeship programs.

Teaching & Collaboration: Leads degree apprenticeship programs and non-traditional courses (levels 3–7). Teaches IT Project Management, Data Science, and academic skills development. Engages in Knowledge Transfer Programmes and industry partnerships.
Grants & Innovation: Involved in part-funded innovation projects on AI/Data Science. Supervises KTPs and apprenticeship initiatives. Focuses on academic skills coaching for computing foundation students.
Labs & Teams: Collaborates within the C3 and SCoLLP research centres, promoting cross-disciplinary approaches to learning and innovation.
