معرفی
Jane Witten is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Her research focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying nervous system plasticity, particularly in the tobacco hornworm Manduca sexta. She investigates interactions between steroid hormones, neuropeptides, and potassium channels to understand development and function in neural systems.
- Educations:
- BA in Bio-Psychology, Wesleyan University (1974)
- PhD in Pharmacology & Physiological Sciences, University of Chicago (1984)
- Postdoctoral Research: Neuroscience (University of Geneva, 1984–86), Developmental Neuroscience (University of Washington, 1986–90; University of Arizona, 1990–92)
Her work employs multidisciplinary techniques including physiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Key topics include FLRFamide neuropeptide regulation, potassium channel dynamics, and steroid hormone effects on neuronal and muscular systems. Courses taught include Neuroscience, Animal Physiology, and Neuropharmacology.
