معرفی
Jane Wilkinson is a Lecturer in Intercultural Business Communication at Edinburgh Napier University's Business School, where she joined in January 2019. She served as Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) in Languages and Intercultural Communication from August 2019 until July 2024 and now leads the new BA (Hons) Intercultural Business Communication and Marketing / Tourism Management programmes. Prior to Edinburgh Napier, she worked at the universities of Leeds, Aberystwyth and Lancaster after completing her PhD in German Studies at the University of Glasgow.
Her research expertise centers on border studies, migration and intercultural communication. She currently leads two major projects: 'Creating cross-border communities: The European Capital of Culture 2022, Esch-sur-Alzette,' which examines multilingual events and identity construction along the Luxembourg-France border, and 'Representations of Migration and 'Post-Migration' in Recent German-Language Drama,' which analyzes theatrical responses to migration from the 1960s to present day. In May 2023, she co-organized the international research symposium 'Imagining and Experiencing Hospitalities in a Mobile World' at Edinburgh Napier.
Her scholarly output demonstrates a consistent focus on border theory, intercultural communication, and German-language theatre. Her recent publications explore hospitality theory in contemporary drama, postmigrant theatre as a 'third space,' and linguistic borders in German-Polish theatre productions. Her work bridges literary analysis with contemporary migration issues and cultural identity formation.
