Jane Rooney is a Senior Lecturer and academic leader at Edge Hill University, leading the Department of Children's Nursing and Midwifery and the Department of Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing. She holds a first-class honours degree in Midwifery and advanced qualifications including a Senior Fellowship of Advance HE (D3 SFHEA). Her roles include strategic leadership in midwifery education, curriculum design, and clinical governance.

She also investigates maternal nutrition education, midwives’ cultural competence, and public health midwifery practices. Her work aligns with UN SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
