Jane Olmstead-Rumsey

Jane Olmstead-Rumsey is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She holds affiliations with the Centre for Macroeconomics (CFM) as an Associate and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) as a Research Affiliate. Her expertise spans macroeconomics, economic growth, firm dynamics, innovation, labor markets, and gender economics.

Dr. Olmstead-Rumsey earned her PhD in Economics from Northwestern University. She teaches EC417: Advanced Macroeconomics at LSE and maintains active research collaborations across multiple institutions. Her research explores topics including merger policy for digital platforms, gender disparities in labor markets, and historical financial crises.

Her recent work analyzes the productivity slowdown through market concentration lenses and evaluates pandemic impacts on gender equality.
