Jane Kraut is an Instructor II in the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba, where she contributes to nursing education through classroom instruction, clinical facilitation, and simulation-based learning. Her work integrates active learning strategies to engage students in applying nursing knowledge creatively.

Jane's research and teaching interests focus on palliative and supportive care, community clinical practice, and family health. Her background in finance, accounting, and human resources prior to nursing enriches her holistic perspective on healthcare systems.
Jane is an active member of the College of Nursing's simulation team, enhancing student preparedness through realistic clinical scenarios. Her teaching philosophy centers on empowering learners to think critically and apply knowledge in innovative ways across clinical and academic settings.
Jane practiced as a visiting nurse in palliative care with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and served as a hospital-based case coordinator for the Manitoba Homecare Program before joining the university in 2016 as a clinical education facilitator, later advancing to simulation facilitator in 2018. Her professional journey reflects a strong commitment to community-centered, patient-focused care and nursing education excellence.
