Dr. Jane Henrici is a Professorial Lecturer and part-time faculty member at George Washington University, specializing in Global Gender Policy. Her expertise spans gender studies, intersectionality, and socio-economic disparities in disaster recovery, climate adaptation, healthcare access, poverty policy, and political participation. She holds a doctorate from the University of Texas-Austin in Economic and Social Anthropology and a master’s from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Henrici’s research emphasizes mixed-methods approaches, particularly in global contexts like the Americas, Caribbean, Middle East, and Asia. She co-led qualitative analysis for the World Bank’s World Development Report 2012: Gender Equality and Development, and directed pandemic-era projects on gendered impacts of disasters in Puerto Rico and globally. She contributed to UN Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives and is a Core Content Developer for GenderPro training materials with UNICEF and GW’s Global Women’s Institute.
Her awards include a Fulbright Scholarship (Peru) and recognition for interdisciplinary work on gender equity. She has advised on policy and programs for organizations like UNICEF and the Natural Hazards Center, emphasizing participatory research and marginalized communities’ voices.
