Jane Gillham

Jane Gillham is the Eugene M. Lang Research Professor in the Department of Psychology at Swarthmore College. Her work focuses on developing and evaluating interventions to promote psychological resilience and prevent depression among adolescents and young adults through school- and community-based programs.

Professor Gillham's research interests include positive psychology, adolescent mental health, and the development of effective well-being curricula. She has created several evidence-based programs including the Penn Resiliency Program and Strengths-Based Resilience, which have been implemented internationally.

Her extensive publication record demonstrates a consistent focus on depression prevention mechanisms, longitudinal outcomes of school-based interventions, and the adaptation of psychological interventions for diverse settings. Recent work explores telehealth delivery methods and refined assessment tools for rumination.
