Jane Ferris Richardson is a board-certified art therapist and Professor of Art Therapy at Lesley University's Graduate School of Education. Her work bridges art therapy, child psychology, and neurodivergent youth support, with a focus on therapeutic relationships, sensory integration, and global contexts for practice.

Her research explores art therapy interventions for autistic children, the intersection of play and art therapy, and nature-based therapeutic frameworks. She has presented internationally in Europe, Asia, and Africa, and collaborated on art therapy initiatives in Cape Town, South Africa.
Recent publications include works on sensory engagement, sandtray therapy, and cultural integration in art therapy practice. She has secured grants for artistic research, exhibition organization, and cross-cultural collaborations in therapeutic settings.
