Jane E. Carreiro, D.O., is the Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of New England. She holds a Tenured Professorship and has served as Director of Graduate and Continuing Medical Education, and Chair of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Her global affiliations include visiting faculty roles at the Winer Schule für Osteopathie (Vienna, Austria), the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (Australia), and advisory roles with the World Health Organization and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She is an Honorary Chief of Pediatric Manual Medicine in Germany and a Past President of the American Academy of Osteopathy.
Her research focuses on pediatric manual medicine, spinal and pelvic functional anatomy, and non-pharmaceutical pain management in children. She has authored seminal texts such as Pediatric Manual Medicine and An Osteopathic Approach to Children, translated internationally. Dr. Carreiro’s clinical practice emphasizes osteopathic manipulative techniques for neuro-musculoskeletal disorders in pediatric populations.
