Dr Jane Du is a Researcher at the SOAS China Institute, part of SOAS University of London. She holds a PhD from the University of London and has a multidisciplinary background in economics. Her roles include Research Associate and former Lecturer in the School of Management and Finance at SOAS.
Education: BSc, MSc (Econ), PhD (London).
Research focuses on Agricultural Economics, Transitional Economics, and Economic History. Key interests include China’s food security, demographic transitions, and labor market dynamics. She has contributed to projects like the award-winning Agricultural Development in the World Periphery and coordinated research on China’s Belt and Road Initiative at the University of Macau.
Awards include the Jaume Vicens Vives Prize (2020), Best Reviewer Award (2021), and China Research Bursary (2019).
