Jane Bickford is a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences, where she serves as Academic Lead for the Speech Pathology Teaching Section. A certified speech pathologist, she teaches both Bachelor and Master of Speech Pathology programs and contributes to interdisciplinary education initiatives.

Her research focuses on voice disorders, head and neck cancer rehabilitation, and the impact of communication impairments on social participation. She also explores therapeutic communication skill development, preventative voice care, and the application of the ICF Framework in clinical practice. Recent work includes projects on occupational voice problems and the role of speech pathology in youth justice systems.
Jane has received multiple awards, including the Vice Chancellor's Prize for Doctoral Thesis Excellence (2016) and the Vice President Executive Dean's Education Award (2017). She has secured grants such as the CNHS - COVID-19 Project Grant ($49,935) and the Faculty Establishment Grant ($7,966) to support her research agenda.
She leads clinical education initiatives like the voice screening clinic and mentors students and clinicians on voice care. Jane also contributes to university governance through roles on committees including the Student Portal Committee and the First Year Teaching & Transition Advisory Group. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to healthcare innovation and education.
