Jane Bell is a full-time Professor in the Business Department of the Briner School of Business at Greenville University, where she has served since becoming a full-time faculty member in 2014 (initially joining as an adjunct professor in 2008). She also holds the position of Faculty Athletic Representative and integrates experiential learning through mentoring "Experience First" UNIV 320 student teams.
Her academic focus centers on Sport Management, Business Administration, Marketing, and Management, with a strong emphasis on developing students of character and service in professional settings. Professor Bell uniquely combines her background in athletics and business education to create hands-on learning opportunities that bridge classroom theory with real-world industry applications.
She has been honored with the W. Richard Stevens Outstanding Faculty Award in 2021 for exceptional teaching and service to the university community.
Professor Bell mentors students through the "Experience First" UNIV 320 program, guiding teams in simulated professional projects. Her career spans teaching marketing and management at Kaskaskia College, coaching volleyball and track at Vandalia High School/Junior High for 11 years, and serving as head volleyball coach at the University of Virginia prior to her academic career at Greenville.
