Iris Carpio serves as Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and Athletics and Faculty Head Volleyball Coach at Mount Holyoke College, where she has held dual academic-athletic roles since July 2017. She is affiliated with the Department of Physical Education and Athletics and supports the First-Generation College Student Network.

Specializing in practical physical education domains, Carpio's expertise spans volleyball coaching methodology, strength conditioning systems, and accessible fitness programming. She integrates kinesiological principles from her graduate studies into courses like beginning volleyball and weight training, emphasizing applied skills over theoretical research.
As Head Volleyball Coach, she directs Mount Holyoke's program with prior experience guiding Santa Fe College to a 2016 NJCAA Division 1 Final-Four finish. Her 13-year high school teaching background at Southwest Miami Senior High School informs her holistic approach to athlete development across competitive and recreational contexts.
