Jane Bailey is a Lecturer in Fine Art at Falmouth University with over 20 years of experience as an artist, researcher, and educator. Her work emphasizes collaboration and participation to explore human and interspecies connections through mixed-media, installation, sound, and digital technologies. She holds a PhD from the University of the West of England (2013), focusing on community participation in digital deep mapping, and an MA from University College Falmouth (2007).
- Teaching: Associate Lecturer at London South Bank University (2004–2018), Falmouth University (2018–present)
Research interests include creative engagement with place, rural aging populations, and the intersection of art and technology. Recent projects like Jubilee Pool Stories and spatial audio exploration highlight her innovative use of field recording and community co-creation. Her practice has been supported by major grants, including from Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Awards include Developing Your Creative Practice funding, which enabled her spatial audio investigations. Her multimedia background includes award-winning interactive projects as a former producer/director.
