Jane B. Parker serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work within Virginia State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds critical administrative roles including President of the Social Work Department Advisory Board, Admissions Coordinator for the BSW Program, and Advisor to the student Association of Black Social Workers.

With over 45 years of professional experience spanning direct services and academia, Ms. Parker's research focuses on Human Behavior, Social Work Practice, Child Welfare, Family Services, Foster Care, and Adoption. Her career features extensive work in child and family welfare systems, including liaison roles between the Richmond Department of Social Services, Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Family Court, judges, and attorneys to coordinate services and interpret policies for Family Services, Foster Care, and Adoption programs.
Ms. Parker maintains active professional engagement through:

Her early life includes historic significance as one of 13 students who integrated New Kent County, Virginia public schools following the landmark *Green v. New Kent Board of Education* case during segregation.
