Janay B. Sander is a Professor of Educational Psychology and Director of the PhD in School Psychology program at Ball State University's Teachers College since 2012. She is a licensed psychologist in Indiana, specializing in intersections between emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns in youth, particularly those involved with juvenile justice systems.
Her research focuses on evidence-based interventions to reduce educational disparities, using ecological systems frameworks and strengths-based methodologies. She has led school-level and systemic consultation projects, emphasizing equity in mental health services and behavioral outcomes.
