Dr. Janani Kassiri serves as an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Neurology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, where she holds clinical and research responsibilities in pediatric epilepsy.
Her research focuses on optimizing treatment algorithms for pediatric status epilepticus, developing specialized care pathways for female adolescents with epilepsy, and advancing surgical interventions for medically refractory cases. She actively participates in clinical trials targeting treatment-resistant epilepsy, including Dravet syndrome, through the comprehensive pediatric epilepsy program.
Dr. Kassiri leads the Female Adolescent Epilepsy Multidisciplinary (FAME) Clinic and co-leads the pediatric epilepsy program, integrating clinical neurophysiology expertise (CSCN Diplomate in EEG) to drive multidisciplinary care innovations and evidence-based treatment protocols for complex epilepsy cases.
