Jana Wittich is a Ph.D. student at the DIW Berlin Graduate Center and a Research Associate in the Macroeconomics Department. She holds two bachelor's degrees in Governance and Public Policy and European Studies (specializing in Economics) from the University of Passau, with study abroad experience at the University of Nantes. She earned her M.Sc. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin. Her research focuses on empirical macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial stability, and the effects of ECB policies on structural reforms. She has worked as a research assistant for Prof. Marcel Fratzscher and contributed to the Macroeconomics Department at DIW Berlin and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center.
Her work spans analyzing ECB policy impacts, natural disasters' inflation effects, and climate change's implications for monetary policy. She collaborates on DIW's economic forecasts, including the DIW Konjunkturprognose. Her publications address eurozone economic dynamics, disaster economics, and policy interactions.
Key research areas include monetary policy transmission mechanisms, financial market stability, and the interplay between climate risks and economic stability.
