Prof. Dr. Jana Oehmichen is a Full Professor of Organization, Human Resources, and Management Studies at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU Mainz). Previously, she held professorships at the University of Groningen (2017-2021) and the University of Göttingen (2011-2017), along with a postdoctoral fellowship at the Copenhagen Business School. She earned a Dipl. Wi.-Ing. (equivalent to M.Sc.) and a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Her research focuses on leadership, corporate governance, strategic sustainability, digital strategy, and strategic human resources management. Notable contributions include studies on board environmental expertise, gender dynamics in executive roles, and digital transformation challenges. She serves as Editor of Business Research and on the editorial board of Corporate Governance: An International Review, while maintaining an Honorary Professorship at the University of Groningen.
Her recent publications address topics like CEO career horizons, AI innovation collaboration with startups, and the impact of digital governance frameworks. Her work integrates global and cross-country analyses to explore governance mechanisms, sustainability practices, and leadership dynamics in multinational contexts.
Prof. Oehmichen’s research emphasizes practical applications for organizations navigating strategic challenges, including ethical leadership, environmental performance, and digital transformation. She collaborates widely with industry partners and policymakers to bridge academic insights with real-world organizational practices.
