Jan Schlenzka serves as a Researcher in the Didactics of Computer Science working group at the Free University of Berlin, affiliated with the Department of Computer Science within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. His role focuses on advancing computer science pedagogy through digital innovation and teacher training initiatives.
His research centers on Computer Science Education with emphases on Artificial Intelligence integration in classrooms, Data Literacy development, and Digital Skills acquisition for educators. Key projects include AMI (Agile Methods for Computer Science Education) exploring iterative teaching techniques, Digi4All developing interdisciplinary digital competencies, and TrainDL building teacher capacity in data literacy—collectively addressing evolving demands of digital-era education through practical, scalable frameworks.
As an active member of the Didactics of Computer Science team, Schlenzka contributes to ENKIS (sustainable AI study programs) and DigiProMIN (digital professionalization for STEM teachers), collaborating on lab-based initiatives that prototype classroom tools while promoting responsible AI adoption in educational contexts.
