Jan Plug is a Professor and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at Western University. He holds a BA (1989) and MA (1990) from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University), and an MA (1993) and PhD (1996) in Comparative Literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His research focuses on 19th- and 20th-century English and German literature, with emphases on Romanticism, Modernism, German Idealism, deconstruction, and contemporary theory such as the Frankfurt School. He advises graduate students in Romanticism, German literature, and critical theory.
