Jan M. Nick

Jan M. Nick, PhD, FAAN is a Professor and PhD Program Director at the LLU School of Nursing. With advanced certifications in In-patient Obstetrics and Nursing Education, she has conducted extensive research on evidence-based practice (EBP) knowledge assessment, global nursing education, and technology-enhanced patient care.

• Education: PhD in Nursing (Texas Woman's University, 1997), MS in Nursing (University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, 1987), BS in Nursing (Pacific Union College, 1982), AS in Nursing (Pacific Union College, 1978)

Her research spans international faculty development, systematic review methodology, and cultural adaptation of nursing tools. Recent publications focus on:

• Evidence-based practice assessment tools in multiple languages
• Telemonitoring for heart failure management
• Bereavement care protocols for perinatal loss
• Global access to nursing research

Notable scientific achievements include:

• Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing
• Fellow of the National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education
• Fulbright Scholar in Paraguay (2008)
• HRSA Health Informatics Technology Scholar (2008-2009)

As director of the LLUH Center for Evidence Synthesis (JBI Affiliated Group), she leads systematic review training programs and collaborates internationally with nursing groups from Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria on patient care improvement initiatives.
