Jan Lepoutre

Jan Lepoutre is a full Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at ESSEC Business School, France, where he serves as Academic Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and holds the Armand Peugeot Chair in the Economics of Electromobility and Hybrid Technologies. He earned a PhD in Applied Economics from Ghent University (Belgium) and an MSc in Bioscience Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

His research bridges entrepreneurship, sustainability, and organizational behavior, focusing on how firms navigate innovation, institutional challenges, and environmental imperatives. He has published in top-tier journals including Academy of Management Journal, American Journal of Sociology, and Journal of Cleaner Production, with recent work examining resilience in extreme events, electromobility ecosystems, and deeptech responses to grand challenges.
