Jan L.M. Hensen

Jan L.M. Hensen is Full Professor emeritus at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Building Physics & Services unit and Full Professor of Environmental Engineering at Czech Technical University, Prague. His research specializes in computational modeling for high-performance building design, focusing on renewable energy integration and indoor environmental quality.

Research interests include multi-scale building simulation, energy optimization under uncertainty, and climate adaptation strategies for buildings and neighborhoods. His work addresses societal challenges in energy transition through advanced computational approaches.

Professor Hensen has received numerous honors including Fellowships from IBPSA, ASHRAE and REHVA. He serves as co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Building Performance Simulation and supervises graduate students internationally.
