Dr. Jan L. Plass is a Professor and Paulette Goddard Chair in Digital Media and Learning Sciences at New York University's Steinhardt School. He leads the CREATE Consortium and co-directs the Games for Learning Institute (G4LI), focusing on advancing digital technologies for education. His work bridges cognitive science, learning sciences, and computer science to design effective simulations, games, and immersive technologies for diverse learners. Over 30 grants from federal agencies and foundations fund his projects, including Project Hope, which developed digital curricula for Syrian refugee children in Turkey and Jordan.
Dr. Plass holds a MA and Ph.D. in Educational Technologies from Erfurt University (Germany).
