معرفی
Dr. Jan Kotrbatý is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University. His research focuses on convex geometry, integral geometry, and geometric inequalities, with a strong emphasis on algebraic structures of valuations and kinematic formulas. He has held postdoctoral positions at Goethe University Frankfurt and Vienna University of Technology.
- Bachelor’s & Master’s: Czech Technical University in Prague (advisor: Severin Pošta)
- PhD: Friedrich Schiller University Jena (advisor: Thomas Wannerer)
His work bridges classical problems like Dido’s and Buffon’s with modern valuation theory, exploring applications in pseudo-Riemannian geometry and convex analysis. Recent preprints with Andreas Bernig and Thomas Wannerer investigate Hodge-Riemann relations and their implications for geometric inequalities.
Scientific awards include the PRIMUS Research Grant (2023), Minerva Short-Term Research Grant (2021), and summa cum laude recognition for his doctoral degree (2020). He mentors doctoral students and contributes to international conferences, including the 2023 Modern Valuation Theory workshop in Jena.
