Prof. Dr. Jan Joseph Mathieu Bruers is a Visiting Fellow in Oral Public Health at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), affiliated with the Royal Dutch Dental Association-supported endowed chair in 'Quality of Oral Care in Daily Practice.' He holds a sociology degree and focuses on practice-based research in oral healthcare, particularly applying clinical and evidence-based knowledge. His work spans dental practice efficiency, elderly patient care, and interdisciplinary healthcare collaboration.
Research interests include dental practice optimization, gerodontology, and leveraging machine learning for personalized periodontitis risk assessment. Recent studies address dental websites' elderly patient information, leukoplakia management, and practice manager roles in oral healthcare.
