Norwegian University of Science and Technologyمعرفی
Jan Grimsrud Davidsen is an Associate Professor and Researcher at the Department of Natural History, NTNU Science Museum. His research focuses on life history strategies, migration behavior, and habitat use in anadromous fishes such as sea trout (Salmo trutta) and Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus). He leads the 'Freshwater Ecology' research group, emphasizing the effects of environmental changes and anthropogenic activities on fish migration and marine feeding strategies.
Key methodologies include acoustic telemetry, radiotelemetry, and stable isotope analysis to track fish movements and assess ecological impacts. Collaborations span institutions like the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research, Dalhousie University, and the French Polar Institute. Recent projects investigate pathogen influences on migration, Arctic charr behavior in Greenland, and the effects of aquaculture on coastal ecosystems.
He advises numerous master's students and contributes to national reports on freshwater management and conservation strategies. His work bridges basic research with applied solutions for sustainable fisheries and ecosystem preservation.
