Jan Germen Janmaat is Professor of Political Socialization at University College London's Institute of Education (IOE), Department of Education, Practice & Society. His academic journey includes a PhD (2000) and Master's (1994) from the University of Amsterdam. Since 2020, he holds a full professorship following previous roles as Reader and Senior Lecturer at UCL. His research examines how education shapes civic values, political engagement, and social cohesion, with particular focus on educational inequalities and democratic development.
