معرفی
Dr. Jan Forbrich is an Associate Professor at the University of Hertfordshire, affiliated with the Research Centre for Astrophysics Research (CAR) in the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics. His research focuses on panchromatic observations of star formation in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies, with a particular emphasis on young stellar objects (YSOs) and ultracool dwarfs.
- Education: PhD in Astrophysics from Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy (2007)
- Education: MSc in Physics from University of Jena (2003)
Jan’s work bridges Galactic and extragalactic star formation science, leveraging advancements in cm- and mm-wavelength radio astronomy. His current research explores YSOs in the combined radio, X-ray, and infrared time domain, and utilizes VLBI radio astrometry for proper motion studies and exoplanet searches. He has led projects such as Star Formation across the Universe and Extreme objects in the Local Bubble, collaborating internationally with institutions like Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and the University of Vienna.
His research spans topics including protoplanetary disks, high-energy irradiation, and molecular clouds, with significant contributions to understanding the initial conditions of star formation in giant molecular clouds and the chemical evolution of galaxies like M31.
