Jan Dybała is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice since 2019, where he supervises the Syntax Error research group. A 2009 graduate of the same institution, he specializes in the intersection of sound and visual languages through experimental audiovisual practices.
His research focuses on sound technology and control interface design, with particular emphasis on analog-hybrid production techniques, modular synthesis systems, and spatial audiovisual installations. Dybała's work bridges electronic culture, performance art, and interface innovation, exploring how sound and visual elements interact within architectural and temporal frameworks.
Notable achievements include the Śląska Nagroda Naukowa 2024 for the Tonarium project and extensive contributions to international festivals including Unsound, Sanatorium Dźwięku, and Ars Cameralis. His creative output spans audiovisual concerts, installations, and publications that investigate sonic phenomena through both historical and technological lenses.
