Jan-Christoph Zoels

Jan-Christoph Zoels is the Head of the Master's Programs in Design, Digital Ideation, Service Design, and Eco-Social Design at the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art (DFK) since 2021. He is a co-founder and Creative Director of Experientia, a global service design studio, advocating for strategic integration of behavioral modeling and sustainability principles into product, service, and environmental design. His expertise spans healthcare, finance, consumer goods, energy, urban planning, and e-mobility sectors.

His research focuses on sustainable behavior change, participatory design, and experience prototyping. He holds four patents and has curated major design conferences such as Interaction20 in Milan. Awards include the Compasso d’Oro Honorable Mention and ADI Index awards for innovative projects like the CityOpt application.

Zoels has advised global clients including 3M, Samsung, UNDP, and the European Union. His work emphasizes cross-sector collaboration and has been exhibited at institutions like the Triennale Design Museum Milan and AEDES Gallery Berlin.
