Jan Brykczyński

Jan Brykczyński (born 1979) is an associate professor at the Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (ASP Gdańsk), and a lecturer at the Institute of Creative Photography, Silesian University in Opava (Czech Republic), as well as the Łódź Film School. A photographer and educator, he is co-founder of the Sputnik Photos collective and author of monographs Boiko and The Gardener. His work spans national and international exhibitions, including Deichtorhallen, Musée de l’Élysée, and the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

• Education: Graduate in Photography, Łódź Film School; Graduate in Creative Photography, Institute of Creative Photography (ITF) in Opava

Research Interests: Brykczyński focuses on documentary photography, visual storytelling, and cultural narratives. His projects often explore personal and collective memory, human-environment relationships, and socio-political themes through photographic practice.

Exhibitions & Collections: His works are featured in prestigious collections such as Musée de l’Élysée (Lausanne) and Centre Pompidou (Paris).
