Jan Borowski

Prof. Jan Borowski is a distinguished Polish choral conductor and tenured faculty member at the University of Bielsko-Biała, specializing in choral conducting and sacred music. He graduated from the Faculty of Musical Education at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (choral conducting class of Prof. Jan Wojtachy) and completed postgraduate voice emission studies at the Bydgoszcz Music Academy. As a certified examiner for professional advancement commissions, he has founded and directed multiple choirs, including the Rudzica Women’s Vocal Ensemble and choirs at the University of Bielsko-Biała, conducting hundreds of concerts internationally.

He produced a world-premiere recording of Paweł Łukaszewski’s Missa de Maria a Magdalena and authored a book analyzing its artistic and theoretical dimensions. As a jury member for international choral festivals and artistic council member of the Cançó Mediterrània Festival, he contributes to global choral music development. His accolades include 11 Grand Prix and 22 first-place awards at national/international festivals, emphasizing sacred music, vocal technique, and contemporary compositions.
