Jan Berggren is a Lecturer in the Department of Education at Linnaeus University since 2019. He holds a PhD in Education from Linnaeus University (2013) with a thesis focusing on English teaching strategies in upper secondary schools. His research explores leadership training, young people's educational trajectories, and social inclusion challenges in Swedish schools, particularly for immigrant youth.
Research Interests: Berggren investigates leadership development in educational contexts and institutional barriers faced by newly arrived youth. His work highlights systemic challenges in educational integration, sexual harassment prevention in schools, and the role of language in academic success. Key projects include #Silenceintheclassroom (sexual harassment discourse) and studies on immigrant students' navigation of upper secondary education.
Teaching: Focuses on systematic quality work in leadership education and supervises master's and doctoral students. His teaching integrates practical leadership training with theoretical frameworks.
