Dr. Jamiu A. Dauda is a Senior Lecturer and research theme lead for Sustainable Buildings and Digital Construction (SUBDICON) within the Construction Informatics and Digital Enterprise Laboratory at Leeds Beckett University’s School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and member of professional bodies including ICE, IET, and CABE.

His research focuses on sustainable and resilient civil engineering infrastructures, with emphasis on low-embodied carbon design, AI-driven building retrofits, digital construction, offsite fabrication, and health and safety in construction. He integrates digital tools like AI and ML to innovate in the built environment, supporting the UK’s Net-Zero 2050 goals.
His recent work involves smart retrofitting of ageing buildings and enhancing construction resilience through digital frameworks. Funded by UKRI, Research England, and WUN, his projects reflect strong interdisciplinary collaboration and practical impact in construction innovation.
Dr. Dauda has secured over £2.5 million in research grants and leads high-impact initiatives, including AI applications for tackling mould in housing and creating a 'digital golden thread' for building safety.
