Jamison Murphy is a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at the University Writing Program (Krieger School of Arts and Sciences) at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a BA in English and Philosophy from Emory University and a PhD in English from Johns Hopkins University.
His research focuses on the intersections of labor history, race, and agrarian history within fiction and photography from the American South. His work bridges literary analysis with visual culture studies, examining socio-political narratives in 20th-century Southern media.
Jamison is also a practicing musician and composer, integrating creative practice with academic inquiry.
