Dr. Jamie Salter is a Senior Lecturer in Sport Science and Injury at York St John University, affiliated with the School of Science, Technology and Health. His academic work focuses on biological maturation's impact on sports performance and injury risk in youth athletes, particularly in soccer. He holds professional certifications from the UKSCA and BASES, and teaches modules such as Strength and Conditioning, Sports Injury Prevention, and Return to Sport. His research emphasizes evidence-based guidelines for youth athlete development, collaborating with sports organizations to improve training practices. He leads the Better Me initiative, fostering student employability in sport therapy and related fields.
