Jamie Mecham serves as Associate Clinical Professor in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education and Director of the Utah State University Speech and Language Clinic at the Sorenson Center for Clinical Excellence.
Her educational credentials include a Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Utah State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education from the University of Utah.
With 23 years of clinical experience, Mecham specializes in language disorders across preschool, school-age, and geriatric populations, emphasizing evidence-based communication strategies and lifespan approaches to speech-language pathology.
She has mentored USU students for 17 years as a clinical supervisor and served as clinic director since 2018, overseeing student training, faculty supervision, and administrative operations while collaborating on language-related research. Mecham considers her three young adult children her greatest mentorship accomplishment.
The Speech & Language Clinic under her leadership provides community clinical services while training future speech-language pathologists through hands-on experience and interdisciplinary collaboration.
