Jamie Kudlats

Jamie Kudlats is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC), affiliated with the Cato College of Education. He serves as Program Coordinator for the Ed.D. Superintendency Concentration and developed the Independent School concentration in the M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction program. His role includes teaching in the Master of School Administration and Ed.D. programs.

Education: PhD in Education from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill); MA in Education (Leadership and Educational Administration) from George Washington University. Prior academic experience includes instructor/student teaching supervisor roles at UNC Chapel Hill's MAT program.

Research focuses on positive school leadership, school law, and the impact of leader-student relationships on well-being and school culture. Current projects examine stress management in schools and principal-student interactions. Editorial board member of The High School Journal and co-founder of the Centre for Relationship-Based Education's advisory board.

Professional background includes 15 years as a math teacher, middle school assistant principal, and middle school principal in Atlanta before pursuing his PhD. Co-creator of the Chalk & Gavel podcast addressing K-12 legal issues.
