Jamie Franklin

Jamie Franklin is an Associate Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney at the Civil Litigation Clinic of Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. She trains law students in civil rights litigation focused on employment discrimination, wage theft, whistleblower protection, and class actions. With nearly a decade of experience running her own firm representing workers and consumers, she brings practical expertise to her teaching of employment law and litigation practicum courses.

Her research and practice focus on holding powerful institutions accountable through high-impact litigation and developing client-centered advocacy approaches. She has resolved numerous cases through mediation and arbitration while maintaining focus on both individual client needs and broader legal impacts.

Professor Franklin is actively involved in discrimination cases involving systemic bias, as evidenced by her commentary on the challenges workers face when banding together in lawsuits against corporate defendants. Her work examines the logistical, financial and emotional barriers to collective legal action.
